Members of the Friends of Rachel Club (FOR Club) visit with staff members of Colorado River Medical Center and give them cookies. The club works to encourage kindness throughout the community through activities such as visiting local businesses and thanking them for their efforts. The club started in November 2014 at Needles Middle School after a Rachel’s Challenge presentation was given. The focus of the presentation was about Rachel Joy Scott, a Columbine shooting victim, who believed in a chain reaction of kindness and promoted kindness. Spraying will take place tomorrow between 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM. The spray is a low mist targeting the adult mosquitoes. Per vector control there are no reports of the West Nile Virus. For more information please go to the City of Needles website.

NMS football will start Wednesday, August 19th, 2015. Any student planning on playing will need to have a sports physical before August 19th. Parents may pick up a sports packet in the NMS office starting on Monday, August 3rd.

San Bernardino/Needles Behavior Health will be hosting a children's health and safety fair on May 6th, 2015, from 4:15 PM until 6:15 PM at the Needles recreational Center.
The Needles Unified School District AVID Program will be having their first annual NUSD College Fair. The fair will be held on Thursday, April 29 and 30, 2015, form 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Needles High School gym. Please see the attached flyer for additional information.
Needles Middle School students Tyler Weiss and Paige Murch are this year’s “True Spirit” winners. The award is part of the Partners in Education program. Middle school principals are asked to select one male and one female student who have shown true spirit in the classroom, citizenship, athletics or other extracurricular activities. The pair, along with their parents and family, were invited to watch the California State University San Bernardino Coyotes play basketball Feb. 14. All winners were recognized during halftime.
